Gluten-free

Bowel diseases are common in a modern world. One of such diseases is a celiac disease.

Celiac disease (gluten enteropathy) is a multifactorial disease, a digestive disorder caused by damage to the villi in the small intestine with some food products that contain certain proteins – gluten (vegetable gelatine), and close to it cereal proteins (avenin, hordein, etc.) – in such cereal types as wheat, rye, barley, and oats . Patients with active (clinically apparent) celiac disease have an increased risk of death compared to the general population. However, this increased risk of death returns to normal after three to five years of strict compliance with a gluten-free diet.

Gluten-free diet
 — diet that assumes complete exclusion of food containing gluten (vegetable gelatine). Gluten-free diet is the only accepted medical treatment for celiac disease or symptoms associated with this disease.
